College writing is way more difficult than high school writing. You have to put in way more effort and have to understand the topic you are writing about clearly and you have to be able to explain it completely where the reader can understand what you are saying. Yes, college writing is all about learning first. If you haven't learned something of value, then you have nothing of value to communicate to others, so why write?
