I struggled this class early on cause i was adjusting to a lot of things around me but i soon got a better understanding of the things that were being taught and I started to do a lot more work. I think the most important thing that I have learned in this class was learning how to write in MLA style. It isn't hard to do but you just have to understand what you are doing. I am learning about outside sources now in high school and how to use them and when , so, this was probably the least helpful thing I am learning although it is likely useful for future purposes.

College writing is way more difficult than high school writing. You have to put in way more effort and have to understand the topic you are writing about clearly and you have to be able to explain it completely where the reader can understand what you are saying. Citing sources makes it a little more difficult as well too. According to "voice in academic writing" Youtube video, your voice is the most important thing in academic .

In Boyd's essay she is telling the reader how to get in touch with your inner detective. It was a very different approach to explain rhetoric which made it interesting. She made the reader be three things, a lawyer, a detective, and a coronor.

When i first started writing, I didn't even know what i was writing about so i had to stop and think and do some more research on what I wanted to major in because i don't have  major right now. The most important thing to m was my introduction and i had ti make sure it kept my reader wanting to read and i just let the rest follow .My conclusion was also important and i had to have strong reasoning.

In my doc2  I am trying to persuade my reader and explain why they should choose exercise science as a major. Essentially, exercise science is the study of human movement and this is especially important for athletes participating in different sport activities. There are a lot of athletes around the world but not as many trainers and coaches and people in that type of occupation. In   C arroll's essay "Backpacks vs. Briefcases" she says " Few of us are persuaded only with our mind, though. Even if we intellectually agree with something, it is difficult to get us to act unless we are also persuaded in our heart."

outside sources in academic writing post 3

Using outside sources in academic writing is very important because you can get different ideas and perspectives. Mike Bunn in his "How to read like a writer," uses a lot of quotes which gives him a lot more credibility and the reader now has a different perspective on the topic. A quote should always back up your claim and reasons as to why it does and it should also have where you got the information from. Now you have more support of what you are saying.

Introduction

Hello! My name is Noah Stovall and I am a 17 year old student at Warner Robins High School. I am currently about to start my senior year of high school and I am currently undecided on what I want to major in college. I have spent all my life in Warner Robins but I am looking to go to a out of state school for college to play football(Middle Tennessee State University). I like shoes and listening to music and just spending time with friends.
